Introduction to SUP Workshop (bring your own board)
Join me for a three hour workshop to learn everything you need to know about Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). Perhaps you have been paddling for a few years. Do you know the Tennessee Paddlesport Laws? Or maybe you just purchased your own board (Amazon Prime!) and are just getting started. Or maybe you want to buy your first board - I will have several different styles to try out. I can guide you through buying a board after the class too!
You will learn:
* Understanding the impact of weather on paddling
* Water conditions for creeks, lakes, rivers, and the ocean
* The different types of paddleboards and what is best for the type of paddling that you want to do
* All about leashes, PFDs, whistles, and other gear
* The care, storage, and transportation boards
* Basic paddling techniques
* All things Safety!
Rebecca Balch has been stand up paddling for over fourteen years, including SUPyoga and amateur SUP racing. She is a certified World Paddle Association Class 1 Instructor. She has a passion for the water and a desire for all paddlers to be safe on the water.
What else you will need to bring:
Clothes you don't mind getting wet
Water sandals or shoes that can get wet
Sunscreen
Drinking water in an insulated bottle
Towel for the ride home
